Kanni

Kanni, which means "pure," is a rare indigenous South Indian sighthound dog breed found in the state of Tamil Nadu.
The Kanni breed is known for being friendly and loyal to their owners, though they are likely to be shy around strangers.
They can become protective of their owners, and while they are usually willing to follow their owners' orders, they can also be independent and do whatever they want. These dogs are known to be easy to train, but if not given enough exercise, they can become destructive and misbehave.
Kanni have thin, muscular legs that give them the appearance of being very tall and long. They have a smooth, short coat and a long, thin tail that reaches more than halfway down their legs and curls at the end, making them very elegant and docile looking dogs.
Their ears are pendant-shaped, they have long snouts, and they have a black nose. Kanni must have black and tan coats to be classified as such.
Even if the other characteristics are identical, any other colour coat is considered a Chippiparai. Each colour differentiation has a different name.
Paala Kanni, for example, is a Kanni with an off-white coat. Pottu Kanni is the name given to this breed when it has brown spots.

Height: 64–74 centimetres (25–29 in)
Life span: 14 to 16 years

Colors: Black & Tan, Tri-color
The Kanni dog breed necessitates a lot of exercise. When left alone, they can easily become bored.
The Kanni, as a hunting breed, has fairly high exercise requirements. These dogs are not meant to be kept as family pets, though their temperament may allow it if their exercise requirements are met. This breed requires at least one hour of moderate to vigorous exercise per day, but more is preferable.
Kanni is a shy breed, but if the need arises, it will not hesitate to defend its master.  These dogs are devoted to their owners and fiercely protective.

Kanni dogs are inquisitive dogs. They are indifferent to strangers but are affectionate towards their own family. Kanni is active and always ready for work. They enjoy playing fetch and have a limitless amount of energy.

These dogs require food that is appropriate for their lifestyle. Active dogs require more calories than inactive dogs.
A male adult dog requires approximately 1650 calories per day. A female dog requires approximately 1400 calories per day.
Obesity is a concern for these dogs. When feeding these dogs, keep in mind their age and weight. To match their active lifestyle, Kanni dogs require high-protein food. Every day, breeders feed their dogs two homemade meals.
These dogs' homemade food consists of chicken that has been boiled with rice and then mixed with yoghurt.
Although the Kanni dog breed has a short coat, it still needs to be groomed. To keep their coat healthy, apply good quality coconut oil to their skin once a week.
They shed hair, but it isn't as noticeable as it is in other dogs. To keep their coat in top condition, they don't need to take any special precautions.
